VUW has awarded its Commonwealth customarily-designated degrees since 1984 (and the American-originating associate since 1970). VUW is federally tax exempt in both Canada and the USA. Whetham College, the oldest constituent college, was chartered by the BC Legislature in 1893. Vancouver [previously New Summits] was granted authority to conduct university work in 1983, and full university context in 1992.

The VUW off-campus academic credit arrangements are referenced in the directory of the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service. They were proud runner-up in the American Association of University Administrators' 1997 Khaladjan Award competition for innovation in higher education [winner New York University, USA]. In its notice, the AAUA letter affirms "The judges admired the [VUW] collaborative, experiential model of higher education..."

VUW degree is listed in a Canadian Immigration Dept website as a qualification accepted for immigration purposes. One does not however automatically qualify for immigration with a qualification, there are other requirements to be met.

CPPD Systems Associates Pte Ltd ( will be referred to as CPPD hereafter) is Vancouver University's recognized member college located in Singapore to operate regionally. All organizations who commence VU approved degrees or courses( at the moment Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore-IFPAS- an official association of financial professionals in Singapore) , East IQ( based in China), POD (based in Singapore) are running VU/CPPD-linked first and higher degree programs. Some Indian organizations are at an advanced stage of launching similar programs. Among them Seasea and SMTC. Others are welcome to write to us, chiefly from South, West and North of India.

WE HELD OUR FIRST CONVOCATION FOR THE FIRST BATCH OF IFPAS(FORMERLY, LUA) MBA FINANCIAL SERVICES GRADUATES, SPECIALISING IN FINANCIAL PLANNING WAS HELD ON THE 17TH OF MAY, AT GRAND HYATT, SINGAPORE. IT WAS ATTENDED BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AS WELL AS OTHER DISTINGUISHED PEOPLE, AND OF COURSE STUDENTS.

Our motto is Professional and Personal Development on a Continuing Basis. Apart from organising courses, which we have done successfully in the recent past, our organisation is actively engaged in systems applications of various types on a consultancy basis. Dr Ghosh and his team have carried out consultancy assignments some of which include computerisation of financial and managerial accounting, organisation development, value-based management systems (including economic value added) strategy and marketing, ISO certification, systems development and others. CPPD has also carried out executive programs extensively, in Singapore and abroad. Educational consultancy, as outlined above, is more recent and a very successful extension of our activity.

Our Present Faculty:

Professor BC Ghosh, DBA, MPhil, FCCA,FCMA, CPA(Singapore),ChFP,formerly Associate Professor with Nanyang Technological University(Singapore) and Adjunct Professor with Golden Gate University, San Francisco. International experience in university level teaching and research, and also in consultancy, for over 30 years. Extensive publications in USA, UK, Australia, Singapore and elsewhere.

Dr. Ben Chan, DBA , M.Sc, Management Consultlant and Part-time Professor. Dr. Chan is from Henley Management College/Brunel University in UK. He has over 20 years experience as an international marketer of industrial, consumer and services products. His teaching and consultancy experience is extensive.

Dr. Benjamin Tan, Ph.D. MBA with considerable business experience in Singapore and Canada, taught at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore for over 7years. Dr Tan has recently re-joined the business world for his full time occupation. He continues to help us when and if his time permits. He is a patron of this venture.

Dr. Myint Soe, Ph.D(Cambridge), Bar-at-Law, UK, Our Law lecturer, and in legal practice in Singapore. Well known in insurance law of Singapore. His book on the general principles of Singapore law published by IBF is a source of authority. His teaching/research experience is extensive.

Mr. Anthony Hoe M.A. Economics (Exeter), CFA, CFP, currently a fund manager.. Will teach investment management. Economics.

Professor Paul Chan, MBA(Henley), CLU, Education Vice-Chair, IFPAS, Singapore. Will teach Marketing Financial Services. A very well established financial professional in singapore.

Dr. Tan Jok Tin, DBA(Henley), MBA , teaching on our DBA program

Dr. Tan Tee Khoon, Ph.D(Templeton), teaching on our DBA program.

Mr. George Gaspar, Adjunct Professor on POD-CPPD Faculty, Managing Director, Personnel Organization & Development Pte Ltd, offering HRM on the Bachelor Program. He is a highly experienced HRM consultant in Singapore. He heads POD and the Bachelor program there where Prof Ghosh is also Dean..

Mr Harry Yeo, Chatered Banker, MBA, CFP will teach Marketing and Finance.

Mr. Benson Sim, MBA (Cranfield), will teach Financial Planning, extensive life professional experience plus managerial experience in business. Teaches IT and Financial Planning.

Mr Sandeep Ghosh is our Commercial Executive/Representative and contact point in India and also our member on the faculty in India- hence an Adjunct Faculty member of CPPD/Vancouver University..

ITS FIRST VU MBA BATCH HAS BEEN LAUNCHED SUCCESSFULLY IN SCHENZHEN, THE FIRST INTAKE OF 26 STUDENTS COMPRISE SENIOR MANAGERS ONLY. They are completing their program soon. China Faculty is mostly from well known universities, but we are not allowed to disclose their names.

Vancouver University is duly accredited to confer degrees in Canada and elsewhere.

The statutory basis for secular non-profit Vancouver University's award of degree includes its constitution; the presumption arising from its statutorily awarded descriptive name; and the fact that such name and presumption was specifically authorized by the Ministry of Advanced Education in 1983 and (enhanced) 1992. Like BCIT, Kwantlen University College, and Malaspina U C (all three public), VU (non-profit secular) is not a member of the AUCC - for technical reasons. VU's degree granting authority was reaffirmed by the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada on the 8th of January, 2002.

CPPD MEMBER COLLEGE HAS NOW ENTERED INTO FIRM ARRANGEMENTS WITH - WITH APPROVAL FROM VANCOUVER UNIVERSITY, TO OFFER THE FOLLOWING VERY INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS:

1. MBA IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PROGRAM WHICH WILL BE BY OUR NORMAL CREDIT TRANSFER ARRANGEMENT.

2. LIFE UNDERWRITERS ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE- now IFPAS FOR AN MBA IN FINANCIAL SERVICES . THIS IS AHIGHLY SPECIALISED PROGRAM AND GEARED TOWARDS FINANCIAL PLANNING PROFESSION, AND DEDICATED TOWARDS THAT END. They have launched their first intake of 22 students in Feb, 2002. A second intake was launched in Aug 2002, and 3rd intake of 23 students in May, 2003. This MBA has been accepted by Life Insurers Associatiion(LIA) towards 154 CPD hours, ie accepted within the industry. Now is also offering a joint qualification with Chartered Financial Practitioners- a professional qualification of high reputation offered by Asia Pacific Life Insurance Council(APLIC).

A DBA WILL SOON BE LAUNCHED FOR OUR MBAs/Others TO PROCEED TO. Is likely to be a success story.

3. WE HAVE ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH EAST IQ MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS OF SINGAPORE TO LAUNCH AN MBA IN CHINA IN HENAN AND OTHER PROVINCES.

4. We have entered into a firm agreement with Personnel & Organization Development Pte Ltd(POD), Singapore, an educational institution in Singapore with over 30 years' history, to deliver a B.S(Management Studies) degree. Its first intake has been launched in October,2002. Dean- Professor BC Ghosh. Lead Person Mr George Gaspar, Managing Director of POD.
